Community Health Promotion Projects (HPP)

Region 07 - Outaouais

Organization: Enrich – Outaouais Health and Social Services Network

Project description 2011-2012:

The Outaouais Health Promotion Project

ENRICH, and the Outaouais Health and Social Services Network (OHSSN), involve citizens, public institutions, service organizations, and community resources in the planning and delivery of quality and accessible health and social services to the English-speaking population. This year, the focus is on four major areas of need:

  1. support a network involved with public health action plans at local and regional levels, in line with the Quebec Public Health plan,
  2. deliver health promotion initiatives aimed to serve English speaking groups impacted by Alzheimer’s and conjugal violence,
  3. foster a volunteer program that supports the centre’s operations and health promotion activities, and
  4. lead a communications center which drives coordination, integration and dissemination of information on health promotion.

This year, ENRICH proposes to take pilot year outcomes to the next level to expand the PIED program to 2 new groups in 2 years with CSSS Gatineau. An increase in the number of Seniors workshops and members of the volunteer bank are also projected. Finally, new developments in health promotion efforts from the communications centre will continue to address the demand for much needed information and its proper distribution to target groups.

Project description 2010-2011:

The Outaouais Health Promotion Project

To enhance the coordination and integration of health promotion initiatives for the English-Speaking Community through increased collaboration and partnerships with the CSSS. The Network, in collaboration with the School Board and CSSS will develop an information tool based on the CSSS’s clinical project for youth and families. Seniors information sessions will be delivered in partnership with the public health institutions and the Resource Centre will continue to be promoted to the community and public partners.
